| Team Summaries | Issaquah Notes: O.E.S. 0-0-3-3- 6 Issaquah 5-1-2-2- 9 Oddly enough this was actually the first ever meeting between two top Northwest programs. The sky opened and the rain came down hard to start but Issaquah didn't seem to mind jumping out to a 5-0 lead in the 1st quarter. A 2-minute penalty to OES resulted in a pretty man-up goal for Issaquah's fifth but OES was able to kill the last 1:30 of the penalty and momentum began to shift to end the period. OES was able to take control of the time of possession and despite being outscored 1-0 actually controlled the majority of the 2nd quarter. They showed great discipline and patience on offense but couldn't find the cage. Meanwhile, their own keeper did well to come up with a few timely saves to keep Issaquah at bay. More of the same in the third quarter in terms of time of possession and patience for OES. Issaquah defense did a great job themselves keeping OES scoreless for almost 30 minutes. But, some untimely unforced turnovers from the Issaquah offense gave OES the chances they needed and they capitalized scoring three straight midway through the quarter. However, Kevin Powers showed why he is one of the top players in Washington stepping up to stop the bleeding and get one back for Issaquah. Powers would then score two more of Issaquah's next three to help push the lead back to six goals at 9-3 midway through the 4th. OES wasn't finished though and taught Issaquah a lesson about playing til the final whistle as they scored 3 in the last four minutes to provide the final score. O.E.S. Notes: |
