| Team Summaries | Volcanoes Notes: The Volcanoes did an exceptional job on opening day. Although we lost the game the kids never stopped hustling and continued to do better as the game went on. Great job on Fielding Emphasis: 1. Always in the Ready Position when the pitchers is ready to pitch. 2. Always assume the ball will be hit in your direction. You must know where to throw the ball before it is hit. 3. Always Try your hardest The boys played upbeat and positive baseball. I saw the same hustle regardless of the score. The players took the baseball field and returned to the dugout with the same hustle from the first inning through the sixth inning. Volcanoes pitching was fantastic with keeping the bal in the strike zone, allowing only 5 walks throughout the game. The hitting was comparable with 7 hits versus the Red Wings 8 hits.
