Team Summaries Volcanoes Notes:
The Volcanoes did an exceptional job on opening day. Although we lost the game the kids never stopped hustling and continued to do better as the game went on.

Great job on Fielding Emphasis:
1. Always in the Ready Position when the pitchers is ready to pitch.
2. Always assume the ball will be hit in your direction. You must know where to throw the ball before it is hit.
3. Always Try your hardest

The boys played upbeat and positive baseball. I saw the same hustle regardless of the score. The players took the baseball field and returned to the dugout with the same hustle from the first inning through the sixth inning.

Volcanoes pitching was fantastic with keeping the bal in the strike zone, allowing only 5 walks throughout the game. The hitting was comparable with 7 hits versus the Red Wings 8 hits.

Keep up the good work.

Red Wings Notes:
The Red Wings started off the season in high gear with a 13-3 win over the Volcanoes that included great pitching and solid defense to back up a strong day at the plate. Pitchers Kaj O'Connell, Lucas Ognibene and Adam Crampton combined for 10 strikeouts while giving up only 5 hits and 3 walks. The Red Wings defense was solid throughout the game, holding the Volcanoes to just 2 earned runs.

The Red Wings offensive generated 9 hits and drew 5 walks, and 10 players reached base safely during the game. The offense was lead by Crampton who went 3 for 3 with a double and 3 runs batted in, and Marshawn Jaramillo, who went 2 for 2 with 3 runs batted in. Everyone contributed at the plate, with 9 players batting in at least one run and 10 players scoring. Overall, it was a great team effort!
