Team Summaries San Juan Notes:
a very offensive game, right from the first whistle. Whatcom scored first, and kept up the pressure. Once again, SJ goalie Clen Mehrer put his team on his back and carried them until the offense starting clicking. Both teams played hard all the way.

Whatcom Notes:
An even first quarter ended 2-1 in favor of San Juan. Several big saves by San Juan goalie Mehrer in the first kept the San Juan lead intact. Play become very physical by both teams in the second quarter, with injuries to Whatcom's leading scorer Danny Hernandez and key defenseman Austin Billiot, both unable to return. Whatcom played the second quarter man down for the majority of the time, with seven penalties called against the Warriors compared to one for San Juan. The Dragons took advantage of the man up situation and took a 6-2 lead into the half. Whatcom scored three unanswered goals late in the third to pull to 9-5, but San Juan played tough to the end, and finished with a 13-6 lead.

San Juan was lead by great goal scoring and play making from Forest Dayton, who showed again why he is one of the top players in the conference with 3 goals and 4 assists. The San Juan goalie was also outstanding, making several saves on point blank shots. Whatcom was paced by their four seniors. Eli Davis and Pat Cassidy had two goals each, senior middie Colin Aanes did a great job on ground balls and transition game, and the D was led by Jake Merrill.

Thanks for San Juan for hosting a great afternoon on the Island, and for a delicious BBQ post game. Good luck to the Dragons in the playoffs.
