JV was able to take their 1st W of the season with a 8-4 victory over Roosevelt JV. At 7:30, the Snohomish Panther's were hosted by newly opened Glacier Peak High School, for it's first ever lacrosse game. The weather was not particularly pleasent but the game was a success as Snohomish continued to gel into a total team, taking a 13-6 victory. Scoring in the 1st quarter was a see-saw battle with each team trading off back and forth. The first to find the back was Wirtz at 9:21 assisted by Steranka. Rossevelt didn't waste much time, returning the goal at 7:42, with Walkek unassisted, tying 1-1. 22 seconds later Steranka would find Wirtz again, for the seoncd time. At 4:50 Walkek found the back of the net again, unassisted, 2-2. 4:19 the Snohomish duo of Steranka and Wirtz hooked up for athird time. At 3:31 Mapsem unassisted tied the game up again (3-3). 20 seconds later Steranka to Wirtz, at 3:11, for the 4th time of the quarter. The see-saw battle concluded at the end of the 1st quarter with Snohomish taking a 4-3 lead. At the opening of the 2nd frame, Roosevelt started the see-saw again, as 47 seconds into the quarter Gloyd was able to move the net, 4-4. 13 seconds later Steranka, decided to take the shot and the goal. 40 seconds later Rossevelt, tied it up for the 5 time of the game, with two player getting a point with the helper from Mapsem, and the goal for Soukup 5-5. 11 seconds later at 10:09 Hund found the back of the goal with the helper from Steranka, taking the lead again for the 6th time. At 6:52 unassisted Wirtz found the back of the goal for the 5th time. at 4:09 Roosevelt's Truitt scored the Roughrider's 6th goal of the game.at 3:32, Anderson, unassisted found the back of the goal to wrap up scoring for the half 8-6 Panther's lead. In the third quarter defense, clearing and riding became the game for the quarter. Rossevelt was able to 5 shots off, Danielson was able to make 4 stops for the Panthers in the 3rd period. The Snohomish offense whoever failed to even get a shot off, and had to accept the shut-out. At the end with literally less than a second remaining Walkek took a shot to to score and end the 3rd frame, bringing Rossevelt within 1. 8-7 Panthers. In the 4th the quarter the Panther's defense was able to do it again, shut out an opponent. The offense took on the task of making up for the 3rd quarter. Rattling off 5 goals, the first from Wirtz assisted by Stanley at 9:23, the 2nd from Pendergast assisted by Jones at 6:21. At 4:27 Jones went unassisted for the Panther's 11th of the game. Pendergast found the goal for the 2nd time unassisted at 3:36. To conclude the game's scoring Anderson was able to put it away at 2:56. In the cages, Danielson saw 45 minutes making 17 saves turning in another stellar performance. The last three minutes of the game, Cooper got in to get 2 saves. The Roughriders netminder was able to make 7 saves on the game. The Panther's wish Roosevelt the best of luck in their upcoming games, and look forward to playing them soon in a few weeks.
