Team Summaries Curtis Notes:
Curtis: 7-0-2-3 / 12
Skyline: 1-4-4-1 / 10

1st Quarter:
Curtis came out to play winning the first face off and bringing it settled into the offense and scoring within 1 minute of the start. Curtis put up two more before Skyline found the net. Curtis responded with 4 more unanswered to finish the quarter.
Curtis 7 - Skyline 1

2nd Quarter:
A flag at the end of the 1st gave Curtis the ball and a man up. A 3 minute illegal stick gave Curtis two men up and the ball to start the 2nd. Skyline made a huge stand and allowed no goals and scored one while man down. A slew of flags on Curtis gave Skyline a ton of man up opportunities that they cashed in on. Scoring 4 goals in the quarter and holding Curtis to none.
Curtis 7 - Skyline 5

3rd Quarter:
Curtis won the face and came down and scored in the first 25 seconds of the quarter looking like they were back on track like the first quarter. Skyline Goaltender made some great saves and caught a lot of 'shots' that look like passes to give them a ton of momentum. Curtis was able to second one in on a man up at 7:24, but was held scoreless the rest of the quarter. Skyline put up a goal at the 6:54 mark. The game got sloppy and was a lot a back in forth until Skyline took control of the ball and put up a second one at the 2:37 mark. They then rattled off two more on the close pipe of Curtis goaltender Mitchell Homeyer to end the 3rd all knotted up.
Curtis 9 - Skyline 9

4th Quarter:
The battle begins. Skyline playing with a lot of heart and energy dominated the ground to start the 4th and made good hard body slides sending the message that they were there to win. Calvin Wiley took control with a great outside shot past Mitchell to go ahead 10 to 9 and giving him 4G 1A. Skyline dominated the ball control most of the quarter. Mitchell Homeyer stepped up big time denying one on ones and great feeds into the crease time after time to lift the Vikings spirits. After a bad pass to throw the ball away with 3:00 minutes left, Landon Carr took over the game. He took the ball from behind the Curtis goal and ran the field scoring upper right side while denying the hard sliding defense and putting them down to the ground instead of the other way around as if the defense had slid into a brick wall. The game tied with 2:23 left and curtis' face off middie Austin Johnson picks it clean and brings it into the offensive end. After subbing off for Landon Carr, he took the ball to the cage again dodging 3 Skyline players to net his 5 goal of the game and the go ahead goal. Skyline responded by winning the face and bringing the ball into the Curtis end. After a great defensive stance, Alex Anderson cleared the ball the length of the field touching the box at 1:03 left and a time out to prevent loosing the ball by exiting the box by Coach Leary. Curtis played the ball control game with great skip passing and ball control by the entire offense. Jamie Yergler had the ball behind with 14 second left when the double came from the crease leaving Taylor Dean wide open all alone. Jamie had great vision and passed the ball to Taylor who put it lower right corner to seal the win with 7 seconds left.
Curtis 12 - Skyline 10

A great game by Skyline especially Calvin Wiley and their goal keeper. A tough team that showed heart and determination the entire game. If we had not gotten the lead in the first, we might not have come out with a win they way they played the rest of the game.
