| Team Summaries | Curtis Notes: Curtis 5-6-4-0 / 15 Tahoma 0-0-0-1 / 1 1st Quarter: Curtis came out of the gate with Johnny Shapton taking the first face-off with a great pass to the point attackmen who then hit a cutting Quinn Moody who made a great dodge for the first goal 15 seconds into the game. Tahoma then controlled the next 2 minutes of the game, but Curtis' defense was up to the task keeping them from shooting. The take away lead to a family affair goal and assist by the Carr brothers. Landon took the ball from Tahoma and ran the field hitting his cutting brother Colby for the goal. Curtis controlled the ball most of the quarter playing unselfish lacrosse scoring 3 more with 2 being assisted. Curtis 5 Tahoma 0 2nd Quarter: Shapton again won the face hitting a cutting Landon Carr on the wing who made a great pass to Quinn Moody who this time did not have to dodge to score to start the quarter off again this time 30 seconds into the start of play. Tahoma again controlled the ball for 2 1/2 minutes this quarter, but Curtis defense held strong with Mitchell Homeyer making a save to then hit a breaking Landon Carr who saw his best friend cutting from the opposite wing where Shawn Blaisdell caught it and fired it to the goalies off stick side low. Austin Johnson won the ensuing face-off hitting Riley Moody who broke up field who then drew the double and hit the cutting Dillon Cavanagh to add another goal 34 seconds after the last. Colby Carr made a dodge from X to add the next. The rest of the quarter was controlled by Curtis with 3 more goals from a patient none selfish offense. Tahoma got the ball with 1 minute left in the half when Curtis pushed a guy with 16 seconds left for their first penalty. Tahoma held the ball to finish the second and start the 3rd with the ball. Curtis 11 Tahoma 0 3rd Quarter: Tahoma did not get a shot off for the rest of the penalty, but controlled the ball for the first 1 1/2 minutes of the second half. Then after a couple of transition turnovers going both ways, Curtis settled down into their offense and added 2 assisted goals and two unassisted goals to finish the 3rd. Curtis 15 Tahoma 0 4th Quarter: Curtis started to play the one on one game instead of the team play and transition that got them the 15 goal lead and the Tahoma defense stepped up big time. There was a barrage of shots in the fourth quarter that the goalie and defense had lined up from the start of the move. Curtis then settled down and worked on some new offenses for the different middie lines, but the Tahoma defense continued to play a great 4th quarter and kept Curtis to Zero. The lone Tahoma goal came on a great dodge by Mr. Connell who beat his man and drew the slide and second. He finished with a great shot to the near side pipe while the goalie was moving to see around the screen. Curtis 15 Tahoma 1 Tahoma played a clean aggressive game and never stopped hustling. My hat is off to them for playing a fast paced game with such short numbers and never quitting. Well done. Scoring: The Carr brothers combined for 10 points with 5 each. Colby Carr 3G 2A - Landon Carr 1G 4A. Not to be outdone by his classmate Colby, Dillion Cavanagh added 5 point of his own 3G 2A. Quinn Moody who started the first two quarters with a goal showed classmates Colby and Dillon that he two was right there adding 4 points 3G 1A. Freshman Brandon Dean had a game of his life and took up the slack for his injured brother and added 3G of his own. Riley Moody added 1G 1A and Shawn Blaisdell closed out the scoring with 1G. The Sophmore class dominated the day with 9G 5A on the day. Tahoma Notes: |
