| Team Summaries | Tacoma Notes: In the longest 48 minutes yet this season, the Tacoma Lions lost an exhibition game to Mukilteo 8-15. With a Matt Hilger drive-by goal just 12 seconds into the game, the Lions seemed poised to carryover momentum from last night's hard-fought victory over Lake Tapps. Mukilteo answered with one goal, but the Lions racked up two more, leading comfortably 3-1 at the end of the first quarter. After that, it was a brand new game. Like a distance runner finding its pace, Mukilteo settled in the second quarter, with rapid-fire passing that stymied the Lion's defense. Twelve minutes later, the Lions found themselves lagging 5-7 at the half. Unable to overcome a tendency to turn the ball over before finding a shot, the Lions logged one of its lowest shot counts all season. With the attack line unable to work the ball in, the Lions scoring duties were handled primarily by middies Hilger (3), Quinn Starkey (2), Will Shideler (1) and Niko Natalizio (1), with attack Bryce Busey netting one goal and one assist. Joey Schaefer added an assist before leaving the game with an injury.
