Team Summaries Tacoma Notes:
What a tough loss. This hard fought overtime defeat gives Tacoma three 1 goal losses on the year and the #2 seed in the Evergreen region. Tacoma came out fired up and ready to play with a great opening possession. Stadium took control of the momentum, starting the scoring off with a little under 10 minutes left in the 1st with an unassisted goal by middie Carter Chaffey. Tacoma seized the momentum with 2 goals in a 30 second span inside of 9 minutes to play, the first on a feed from Bryce Johnson to midded Alec Stewart and the second on a good drive by attack Bryce Busey. About 4 minutes later Busey added another with an iso on the goal. Stadium got one back with under 3 minutes to play and the 1st quarter ended with a 3-2 advantage for Tacoma. Starting the 2nd quarter each team was assessed a 3 minute illegal stick penalty. Johnny Shapton fed Mark Reuter for a Stadium goal 1 minute into the 2nd. Busey assisted Will Shideler and Givanni Natalizio drove to the cage to give Tacoma 2 goals in the 5-5 situation. Immediately after the penalties were released Alex Lineweaver drove to the goal and brought Stadium within one. Joey Schaefer helped push the lead to two with a great fake shot, and feed to Griffin Meister for Griffin's first of the game. But Stadium would answer back with a Shapton goal inside of 30 seconds for a halftime score of 6-5 in favor of Tacoma. The Lions really faded in the second half and Stadium was able to take over the momentum with a Shapton assist on a Lineweaver goal to knot it up at 6 two minutes into the second half. A minute and a half later Givanni drove from the top of the box to put in Tacoma's only goal of the 3rd quarter. Lineweaver's 4th of the game and Chaffey's second really pushed the momentum over to the Tigers side and Shapton seemed to put the dagger in ending the 3rd on a three goal run and a 9-6 Stadium lead. The Tacoma defense was really able to step up in the 4th and shut out the Tiger offense. Griffin pulled the Lions within a goal on a feed from Busey with 10 minutes left. At the two minute mark Senior Quinn Starkey tied the game up at 9 and really energized the Lions bench. A couple of missed shots later from the Lions sent this game to overtime. Both teams battled in the 4 minute overtime period but Tacoma just wasn't able to get good quality possessions and because of this the Tigers wore out defense down, scoring the winning goal with 1 minutes left. The Lions offense was very spread out with Busey, Griffin, and Givanni each putting in two goals. The Natalizio brothers ate up the ground balls for Tacoma with a combined 11 gbs.

Congrats Stadium on a hard fought victory. Good luck in the playoffs and enjoy the first round bye. Hope to meet you again for some revenge in the final.

Stadium Notes:
WOW!!! This was a great game right from the start. Stadium struck first and Tacoma was quick to counter. The game was back and forth the entire game. Tacoma was up by 1 going into the third quarter.Stadium came out ready to play in the second half and jumped out to a 9-7 lead. Thats when Tacoma took over and did most of the scoring tieing the game up at 9. The game went into overtime. THis was a battle in itself. Both teams had a chance to win it early. Stadium was able to get the ball on the offensive side. A/C cut through and Alex hit him with a pass. A/C was able to find the back of the net to win the game for Stadium. This was a great game by both teams. We wish Tacoma the best of luck in the playoffs. Stadium scoring: Alex Lineweaver 4g 2a, Johnny Shapton 2g 2a, Mark Reuter 1g, Carter Chaffey 2g, and A/C Connely 1game winning goal.
