But it was also snowing in Redmond, and the referees had to ask the players to use their lacrosse sticks to clear off the field lines so they could be seen. Redmond did not appear to be impacted by their three-week layoff, and used a balanced attack to tally 5 goals in the first quarter on goals by four separate players. A tough and disciplined defense effort, anchored by another outstanding effort by goalie John Olin, blanked the Whatcom team. In the second period, Redmond continued their attack, adding another 5 goals. Andrew Hoelzle of Whatcom made a great individual effort to score 3 unassisted goals during the period. In the third period, Whatcom added 2 more goals to close the gap to 10-5, but the Redmond team then scored 6 unanswered goals during the remainder of the game to put the game out of reach. Three Redmond players - Burke, Dahl, and Dougherty - scored 4 goals apiece, while Hunter MacDonald (3 goals) and Jake Bernstein (2 goals) rounded out the scoring. Burke’s season-high 9 ground balls led both teams.
