Bellevue 3-0-0-1- 4
Issaquah 1-1-1-6- 9

What happened to April showers bring May flowers? Instead the playoffs started in the rain. Though the playoff season does bring new life and a fresh start for all and Bellevue showed it was a team much better then its 7-7 record and #7 seed.

Issaquah seemed to get off on the right foot scoring just 1:14 into the game as Alex Bates found a cutting Travis Wright for the lefty finish. Bellevue answered immediately though and through a combination of winning face-offs, shutting off Travis Wright and finishing transition opportunities the Wolverines controlled the first quarter.

Issaquah's defense then went into lock down and would hold the Wolverines scoreless until the final 27 seconds of the game. Sophomore, Michael Green came up big as he won groundballs and sparked looseball situations in the defensive end.

Though the defense was doing their part, Issaquah's offense struggled to find rhythm as Bellevue's defense was essentially equal to the task. When Issaquah did find opportunities, the Wolverines keeper, Andrew Linton made big saves. Issaquah slowly climbed back, scoring one in the second and one in the third to tie it up heading into the 4th.

The 4th quarter belonged entirely to the purple and gold. The continued attack finally wore on the Wolverine defense. Travis Wright began to find room to dodge and assisted the first two goals of the quarter; the first to Todd Jones wide open on the back door and the second to Alex Bates on the wing, off a dodge from behind. Riley Goodman won the faceoffs and kept getting the ball back for Issaquah and they just kept attacking. When the rain finally stopped, Issaquah had scored 8 unanswered goals stretching back to the 2nd quarter, 6 of them in the 4th quarter.
