| Team Summaries | Curtis Notes: Curtis: 1-3-3-4 (11) Puyallup: 5-1-0-4 (10) A battle of kids that know eachother and are friends off the field made this a fun and exciting game to participate in and watch from the stands. The crowd was great and the kids responded with all the effort they had in themselves. Puyallup came out of the gate at Mach 10. Scoring 5 unanswered goals. Curtis called a good time out to steady the ship. After the time out Curtis scored an off stick high shot by Jamie Yergler to calm the nerves. Curtis knew they were back when at the end of the first they were man down, stole the ball and maintained possesion with 40 seconds left in the quater to prevent Puyallup the goal and to keep the ball to start the 2nd. 2nd quater had Curtis come out with a goal and then Puyallup to respond immediatly. Curtis then scored another one to keep the hope alive. After a 2nd timeout by Curtis with 1 min. left in the half, Curtis held the ball worked its offense and scored with 7 seconds left to bring it to a 6-4 game. 3rd quater was all Curtis scoring 1 early and 2 late holding Puyallup to very few good opportunities and no goals. 4th quater showed the heart of both teams with a seasaw battle back and forth. Curtis pulled ahead by 2 and then it was a goal for goal battle. JT Tungstile showed his leadership for Puyallup scoring 3 of his 4 goals in great transision movement in the 4th quater. Madison Booth from Curtis played spectacular one on one defense on JT the entire game only allowing 1 of his goals to be on settled situations and drives. Overall a very exciting game to watch. Hats off to the Puyallup team for a great batlle and classy sportsmanship even in defeat. They have a lot of athletes and great kids that will continue to improve. 8 of the 10 goals were off transision mainly due to the speed and athletes that they have. Scorers: Puyallup - JT Tungstile 4G / Brandon Peterson 3G / Matt Puntell, Kei Morris 1G and Sean Gorey 1G 1A with the only asisted goal. Curtis - Andy Lehr 3G 2A (5) / Taylor Dean 1G 2A (3) / AJ Handley 2G (2) / Jamie Yergler 2G (2) / Bryce Sheldon 1G 1A / Austin Johnson 1G (1) / Colby Carr 1G (1). Congrats to Senior AJ Handley, Junior Austin Johnson and Freshman Colby Carr all with their first Varstiy Goal in their first ever Varsity game. Puyallup Notes: |
