Team Summaries | Pelicans Notes: A pitchers' duel all the way, altho the 2 teams pitched completely differently. The Mets ZachS opened with a tough first - 4 hits including 2 texas leaguers and an infield single - and the Pels plated 3. Zach shut the yellow bats down effectively after that, though, going 6 full innings on an efficient 90 pitches. Meanwhile, the Pels threw a combination platter of Postcard(3), Mumbles(2), FishStick and Strawberry. Combined, they limited the Mets to 6 hits and 2 runs. Especially efficient was Postcard - 3 innings in 30 pitches. This was a great, tight, tense game, with just 2 walks and 1 error between the 2 teams. Add in some sunshine and a couple of solid umpires, and this was about baseball heaven. Mets Notes: |
