| Game Summary | The SUGA staged another 4th quarter comeback to win. The sharp-shooting Alexis Konstantino got the SUGA off to a fast start with eight points early in the game. The win marked the return of Power Forward Wanisha Coburn, (who broke her wrist in the first game.) Wanisha was eager to get back in the lineup and muscled her way to six points, three rebounds and two steals. Her partner in the paint, Dylan Byrd played another strong game in the middle. Dylan added eight rebounds and two steals. Maddie Lewis' solid leadership at point guard was a key factor in the comeback. Maddie scored four points, three steals, and dished out three assists. Anjelica Ambrosini also added eight points and 11 rebounds. The Mercury were at the heels of Team Suga throughout the game. They scurried for rebounds and grappled for loose balls. Jessica Wright who fought hard scoring 11 points unfortunately was hurt in the last few minutes of the game. Her teammates tried to rally, down only three points, but time ran out. Jessica deMesa lead the team in scoring with 12 points and steals with seven; while Christine Nguyen, Gracie Beiries and Kelly McCormick had eight rebounds each. |
