In the final minute of the fourth quarter, the Drillers were leading by 5, when the Wed Wobbins' Layla Stebbins hit a 3-point jump shot, then Rachel Reising (one rebound, two steals, an assist) grabbed a loose ball and took an open shot from the baseline to tie the game and force it into overtime. In OT, Stebbins hit another 3-pointer and Sienna Parker nailed a free throw to put the game out of reach for the Drillers. Lauren Guerrero had two key steals and four rebounds, Emily Beireis had five rebounds and a steal, and Sienna Parker put up four points with three steals, thre rebounds and an assist. Jessica Cavalli had five rebounds, three steals and an assist and Sierra Edwards pulled down another six rebounds. Georgia Harris was also tough on defense. The Drillers had balanced scoring led by Maria Mandanas (six points), Marisa Woo (five points), Tori McGovern and Tara Pula with four points each. Woo, McGovern, Jasmin Baculpo, Madison Wilcox and Maddie Heaps all came up with key steals or rebounds. It is always exciting when these two teams play and this game did not disappoint. |
