Juanita’s Bay Badgers unleashed their total determination to earn their first win of the season. They were in sync from the start with Madeline Silva making the first basket. The Badgers defense suffocated the Drillers offense with relentless pressure. Christina Carmon was a fierce defender in the paint with 10 rebounds, six blocks and no shots went unchallenged. Rebecca Krause was the leader in rebounds with 12, scored eight points, had three assists, two steals and four blocks. Shoshana Merriman put up eight points, had three rebounds, two assists and three steals. Rachel Arbios sunk in her first bucket of the season and had three rebounds. Madeline Silva put up six points, an assist, two blocks and six rebounds. The Allegrotti Construction Drillers lost their first game of the season. Jane Verlaine and Maria Mandanas steppped up and scored 4 points each. Marisa Woo, Madison Willcox, and Tara Pula each added a bucket. The Drillers never got it going as the Badgers played tough throughout. |
