After their only loss of the season last week, The Gladiators (7-1) got back in the win column playing team basketball. Massie Ayuby (14 points), Darryl Simbulan (13 points), Elvidin Tudzihovic (13 points) led the way. The backcourt duo of John Tupasi (nine points) and Emmanuel Boquiren (seven points) led the fast break converting steals to baskets. Off the bench defensive specialist Mark Gotuaco dished assists to Max Lytle and Andres Vargas-Johnson who scored two points apiece.The Rebels who played hard and never quit till the final buzzer were led by Gabe Ross (16 points). Jonathan Naulty, Ryan Cooper and Julian Walker contributed six points apiece The Rebels showed a lot of heart and never gave up despite the ups and downs. Gabe Ross powered his way to the basket, sliced in a three pointer and sunk free throws for a total of 16 points; Kenny Swain commanded a total of seven points including a free throw and 3 buckets. Julian Walker dished out six points in the paint while Jon Naulty delivered six more points including two free throws. Ryan Cooper got some good looks from the outside corner sinking two field goals for six points and Davin Hodge found an opening in the middle and drove in for two points. Michael Kelly, Moises Haro and Johnathan Gee provided assists and defensive plays to round out the action on the court. |
