Sparked by the return of Floor General Robert Hansen off the disabled list (broken arm), the Alameda Advertising & Recognition (www.alawards.com) Basketball Players defeated the Roomian & Associates Yellow Snow. The General scored six points and was instrumental in setting the offense in the best team effort by the Players to date. Biruk Gebreyesus led all scorers with 18 points, and had seven rebounds, seven steals and two assists. Zach Gordon and Andrew Melendez each contributed four points and provided a strong presence under the basket, collecting 10 rebounds between them. Ben Ingalls and Mikio Akima rounded out the scoring with a bucket apiece. Ingalls also had a team-leading five assists. Defensive specialist, Michael 'The Bandit' Tam, notched five steals. Andrew Velez also provided strong defense, collecting a steal, and Joseph Chen contributed with fine passing on the offensive end. |
