Team Red was dominant in the first half, rolling up a 22 – 9 lead behind a balanced attack that featured Allen Williams and Alex Vick. Team Red seemed unstoppable as shots fell for Harshal Patankar and David Sherak. While the Jukesters chipped away at the lead in the third quarter, Team Red continued to lead by seven with 8 minutes remaining in the game. Key rebounds by Rowland Markeim (six points, 13 rebounds) and tenancious defense by Andrew Rusca (10 points, three rebounds) and Victor Veruzco (eight points, six rebounds) began a turn about. Rusca eventually fouled out, but provided strong inside defense and tenacious rebounding during the critical closing minutes. After being held scoreless in the first half, Rusca delivered 10 points at crunch time in the second. Guard Sean Cunningham of the Jukesters also got hot in the second half, scoring 11 in the second half after a quiet first two periods (14 points, eight rebounds). Cunningham converted two driving layups late into two big 3-point plays during the 4th quarter to fuel the rally. Rookies Billy Lau and Andy Lau played tough in the turnaround with Andy pulling down seven rebounds in the second half as the Jukesters rode a 14 to 1 run in the last quarter to win.
