The Spartan army emerged victorious from a fierce contest with the Celtics. Matthew Arnstein (eight rebounds, three assists, two steals) and Julian Piamonte (eleven rebounds, five assists) had 10 points apiece, while Milad Esmatyar (four rebounds) added another nine. Nathaniel Nguyen-Barkus (nine rebounds, one assist) shot for three while Kyle Soo Hoo (one rebound) nailed a bucket. Jarrod Cleto, Jonathan Jones, and Matthew Mendoza aided the formidable Spartan defense. The Celtics offense went into hibernation in the 2nd and 3rd quarters allowing the Spartans to take the lead and hold on to it for good despite a spirited 4th quarter surge. Thomas Lee led the scoring with 13 points with Riley Jiang (four points), Trevor Patrick (four points), Michael Woodworth (one point) and Nels Bergeron (six points) adding to the score. Nels Bergeron had 12 rebounds and three blocked shots with Thomas Lee grabbing six rebounds in a losing effort. |
