It was a nail-biter and a defensive contest! The Fiery Cheezeballs collaborated in total team effort for this victory and remain undefeated. In this well matched game the score stayed tight but the Cheezeballs were down by five at halftime. Point Guards Isaiah Baluyot and Tobey Lee were the high scorers with eight points each. A key shot by Sebastian Silva before the final buzzer brought the game to a 27 – 27 tie. In overtime Silva put in two free throws and Tobey Lee made a bucket for a four-point lead. Power Forward Aaron Kees put up five points and was team leader in rebounding with eight. Anthony Riley earned two points, four steals, four assists and three rebounds. Big man Webb Dugas took advantage of his strength under the boards to grab up seven rebounds. Edmon Yau had two steals and brought out the flavor in the Cheezeballs. The Warriors dominated scoring for most of the four periods, led by Esteban Lovato’ s sixteen points and Luis Solares’ expert playmaking. Joe Rockwell was full of hustle, playing despite a violent elbow to the eye. Preston Choi’s hustle seemed to always have him the open man. Jack Neary and Anthony Vargas-Pena kept up the defensive pressure. |
