| Team Summaries | San Juan Notes: In 1870 Prof. Huxley addresses the Royal Geographic Society defending his theory that life evolved from ooze (bathybius) covering the ocean floor. He said 'Man is mud, and mud is man.' One hundred and thirty-seven years later we have proven this theory of Mechanism correct. The first home game in three years for the Dragons was a viscous soup of earth, rain, hustle and heart; where man, mud, ball and stick were interchangeable synonyms. The game ended with every played painted with primer, base, and finish coats of 'Loamy brown' and with a 6-2 victory for the Dragons. After a scoreless 1st, Stanwood opened the scoring and took 1-0, and 2-1 leads in the 2nd quarter. Transition play and individual effort by #1 Dayton allowed the Dragons to sneak into halftime with a 3-2 lead. Defense prevailed in the second half as improved middie D supported 2 shutout quarters for keepers Mehrer and Funke. It was not until the sixth goal was scored did it appear that San Juan had secured its first victory in since 2005. Stanwood played spirited ball throughout the game, and their keeper played strong.
