Livin' on the edge...Issaquah pulled out this one in double overtime.

Issaquah scored the first two goals of the game, but then proceeded to play an uninspired first half filled with sloppy defense. Maple Valley capitalized and took a 5-3 halftime lead.

Issaquah showed much better effort in the 3rd quarter to tie the game headed to the 4th. After the teams traded goals, freshman Jake Director dodged and finished unassisted to put Issaquah up with 3 minutes to play. With under a minute to play, Issaquah took a penalty and the Vandals scored to force OT.

Issaquah had the better of the possession in the first overtime. Maple Valley did get one good look, but Garrett Johnson came up big and helped Issaquah push to a second OT.

Andrew Morris scored the game winner, dodging from the left wing, beating his defender top side and rifling a bounce shot past the keeper.

Mike Gerrard continues to play at level above most on the field and collected 7 grondballs.

David Campi led Issaquah in scoring with 4 goals.

Ben Lavigne just plain works hard and improves each game.

Maple Valley Notes:
Great lacrosse game! MV earned back their self-respect with a hard fought double overtime loss to a talented Issaquah squad. Missing two starters on attack and our best midfielder in Matt Gooch, MV showed no quit as Brandon Morris led the offense with 3 goals on 3 shots, 1 assist, and a team high 6 ground balls. Sophomores Bryan Martin (1g, 2a), Alex Carpentere (1g), Kurt Geiger (1g), and Trenton Butt (1g) all played big tonight. The defense, led by Dan Miller, Hill Zahradnik, Joe Michels, and Andrew Extine played great and had no personal fouls (probably a record for MV). Connor Fischesser, as usual, was the leader of the team, directing the defense and making 17 saves for the night. Great effort guys!
