| Game Summary |
The Hobnob Hoopsters won their third straight contest. The Hoopster struggled against the Tsunami defense in the first half and trailed 26-24 at the intermission. Mark Gustin, six points, seven rebounds and Evan Reyes, eight rebounds, two points, started to dominate the boards which allowed the Hoospters to come back. The stout defense of Daniel Voisenat with two points, five rebounds and three blocks, allowed the Hoopsters to end the game on an 11 -2 run for the win. Chance Tillman led the offensive attack with 19 points, six rebounds and four steals and Dorian Lockett added four points and five rebounds. The Tsunamis hung with the Hoopsters for most of the game, but didn’t quite surge enough at the end. Daniel McCormick (10 points, nine steals, six rebounds, three assists) led the Tsunamis in most categories, with help from Liam Dempsey (six points, five rebounds). Tsunamis’ “warriors” awards went to Julian Pelzner and Kenyon Ebert for their literally tight-lipped and hard-nosed defense, which resulted in a bloody lip and nose for them, respectively. Edan Winckler also earned accolades for his defense and rebounding. |
