Both teams engaged in a closely contested, exciting battle, and seemed to match each other basket for basket during the second half. Brendan Collins-Bride played an unrelenting game at both ends of the court, inspiring his team at critical points. He finished the day with 10 points, four rebounds, and an assist. Antonio Manibusan was high scorer for the Goonies with 13 points, adding four rebounds and three assists. Also contributing was Ryan Rafferty, with nine points, including one 3-pointer, two rebounds, an assist and a critical steal in the second half. The Goonies' second-half comeback was helped by the tenacious defense of Ben Russi, who always seemed to be around the ball, thwarting the Spartans' efforts. Rounding out the Goonies' scoring were Nick Beach and Mark Padriquilla. |
