| Game Summary | The Alma improved its record to 6-3 with a win over the Queens. Loni Badial scored 18 points and Elizabeth Roebuck was a force on the boards, grabbing many rebounds and scoring 11 points. Treena Javier contributed four points and Rachel Bussey three points. Despite falling behind by nine points in the second half, the scrappy Queens’ ferocious fourth quarter comeback fell just short. The diminutive backcourt duo of Patricia Jimenez and Debbie Gee led the rally with Jimenez’ extraordinary quickness and hellacious defense producing a team-high seven steals to go with her four assists. Gee added four points and excellent team defense. Forward Nivana Horsley scored 10 points on 50% shooting and Samantha Russi added four points on very efficient two-for-four shooting. |
