Game Summary | Monarchs 2 Osprey 1 Fans were treated to a tight, well-played game featuring top-notch playoff pitching as the Monarchs Alex R. fanned 6 in 3 innings of shutout ball and Osprey starter Max S. struck out 8. Monarchs runners reached third in every inning, but tough Osprey defense kept the score 2 - 1 after 5. In the 6th, Osprey speedster Isaac P. drew a lead-off walk and quickly stole 2nd and then 3rd. Monarchs closer Kai H. dug deep and struck out the next 2 batters with catcher Peter W. preventing a steal. A towering infield pop up seemed to hang forever, but Kai made the grab and the Monarchs advanced to the finals. |
