Team Summaries | Diamondbacks Notes: A seesaw battle that could have gone either way, and wasn't settled until the bottom of the 7th when Kayo banged out his second homer of the day. The Angels took the early lead, batting around in the 1st on 3 hits, 4 walks and a couple of D'bax defensive lapses. But then the D'bax Big Birdseed settled down, striking out 7 and yielding only one hit over the next 3+. Meanwhile, the D'bax scored seven unanswered runs of their own, the big knocks coming on Long Lloyd's 2-run triple and Kayo's 3-run homer. Eli came in to pitch the fifth, and proceeded to strike out 6 over 3 innings. Some shaky D'bax defense opened the door in the 7th, however, and the Angels took full advantage adding 3 clean hits and retaking the lead 8-7. All of which set the stage for Kayo's walk-off heroics. Eli got the justly deserved win, going 4 for 4 with a double, an RBI, and 2 runs scored. Angels Notes: |
