| Team Summaries | Diamondbacks Notes: It really was a pitchers' duel for the first 2 innings, with the Padres big lefty Sean and the D'bax Elf going toe to toe. Then after the Padres had broken thru on a 2-out, 2-run single by Sean in the top of the third, the D'bax answered with 4 of their own as Eli, Daniel, Evan and Kevin provided punch from the heart of the order. Eli gave up just one more run after that, finishing his stint with 10 K's thru 5 before handing the ball to rookie lefthander Lloyd, who pitched 2 scoreless innings to close out the game. D'bax Kevin, Eli and Daniel each had two hits, while rookie Evan went 4 for 4 with 4 Rbi's. Padres Notes: |
