Beautiful day on a nice grass field to play a game.
1st qtr.
Curtis came out of the gate strong with Peter Stewart and Dane Nager dominating the faeoff. Johnny McLain, Jayden Gravseth, and Max Graber set up perfect fast break attack positions taking advantage of the face-off wins putting in 5 goals in the first 1:30 of play. Olympia settle in and started playing better team defense and the goalie made some great saves. Curtis continued to own possession of the ball and running a team offense that moved free and without the ball. 8 of the 13 goals scored in the first were assisted and many hockey assisted.
13 - 0 Curtis

2nd qtr.
Curtis came out with its younger defense and Olympia settle into its offense. #22 Neagle scored the first two goals of the quarter. Curtis responded with Sophomore Attackman Ryker Paulson and Freshman Miles Chunn each putting one in the cage. Neagle from Olympia assisted #55 Lakamore to finish the scoring for the quarter with 30 seconds left. On the ensuing face-off Curtis got the win and in a scrum for a dropped pass had a high hit and the half came to an end with Curtis going to the box for a 2 min none releasable penalty.
15 - 3 Curtis

3rd qtr.
Peter Stewart won the face-off and Curtis was able to burn the full 2 minute penalty dispite excellent doubling and hard defense by #23 defensemen Paul Jahn. Curtis' younger players played some stagnent offense allowing Jahn to be aggressive and cause a number of turnovers. They settled down and started moving the ball better finishing the quarter 1 - 1.
16 - 4 Curtis

4th qtr.
Junior Charlie Phelps stepped into the cage (as he missed it after playing for Kapono when he got hurt on our spring break trip) allowing Kapono Daily to play some attack. Curtis' young defense found its rythem and settled down playing good positional defense instead of trying to take the ball away as they had done in the 3rd. They kept Olympia from getting any shots on goal in the fourth. The offense also settled down and spread the field with movement without the ball. Sophomore defensemen Eli Eastwood, Sophomore Goalie Kapono Daily and Sophomore middie Ben Correll all made their first Varsity Goals to end the game.
19-4 Curtis

Thank you to Olympia for hosting and such great attitudes. Playing with only 13 players is never easy, but they battled and hustled everywhere on the field.
