| Team Summaries | Osprey Notes: The Ospreys Drop High-Scoring Affair to Crawfords, 14-12 The Ospreys lost a battle of the bats on Sunday at Montera Jr High, falling short in a 14-12 ballgame against the Crawfords. The Crawfords bats woke up early as seven hitters had a field day, combining for 10 hits, 10 RBIs and 12 runs scored. Four relief pitchers made sure the win didn't fall through the cracks for the Crawfords. Brandon faced five batters in relief, while Willie C managed to record three outs to aid the victory. The Crawfords never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring four runs on a two-run double by Willie and two singles. The Ospreys got one-run rallies in the first inning and the fifth. In the first, the Ospreys scored on a walk by Micah, scoring Torin. The Crawfords matched its three-run second inning with three more in the third. In the second, the Crawfords scored on a two-run double by Nadan, scoring Yuji and Aidan. A bases loaded walk scored Will B to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Jaden's single, plating James. After pushing across five runs in the bottom of the third, the Ospreys faced just a 10-6 deficit. An RBI single by Torin, a two-run double by Joseph H, an error, and an RBI single by Jet M set off the Ospreys rally. The Crawfords pushed across two runs in both the fourth inning and the fifth. In the fourth, the Crawfords scored on a groundout by Jasper, scoring Brandon. After pushing across five more runs in the bottom of the fourth, The Ospreys faced just a 12-11 deficit. A two-run single by Naeem B, an RBI single by Redding T, an RBI single by Torin, and a RBI single by Max R sparked the Osprey's rally. Crawfords added two more runs in the top of the fifth. Jaden singled, plating Willie to start the inning. After pushing across one run in the bottom of the fifth, The Ospreys faced just a 14-12 deficit. An RBI single by Sam D triggered the Osprey's hopeful comeback. But ultimately, the Osprey’s failed to plate the tying run from second base as the game ended.
