| Team Summaries | Timber Rattlers Notes: Monday baseball means 5 quick innings, then dinner, homework and straight to bed! Midweek or not, the T-Rats were happy to be back on the diamond for the first time in 4 weeks. Five pitchers threw an inning each. Rhino started, allowing just a run on an opposite field single. Clyde was the only T-Rat pitcher to put up a zero, striking out two and receiving sparkling defensive help in the form of a 2-6 caught stealing (Thunder to Stub). The pitching highlight, tho, was Chester battling first-time nerves to earn comeback groundouts on two consecutive pitches. Offensively, the T-Rats enjoyed the first day of steals - swiping a dozen bases. The best baserunning moment, tho, wasn't a steal but pure heads up play when Lightning took advantage of a sleeping Sea Dog pitcher to nab home. Verne dropped down two perfect bunts, Clyde sacrificed himself to plate the first run and Fingers laced a double down the left field line. Called Up: Chester Sea Dogs Notes: |
